    Grubsy's practice on Sundays

Grubsy's practice track just outside Waters Upton,is now open for 7 weeks leading upto christmas. A good number of riders from our group visited there this weekend, and enjoyed the riding despite the fog early on in the day..
The groups of riders are split into groups which allows all levels from inter junior to expert to ride with people from their own ability.
There is even a small oval track for younger children.
I will probably be there taking photos over the winter depending on weather conditions, this weekend was rather foggy which made things a little difficult photo-wise!!! take a look at the photo albums to see.

Dont forget that trophies are being issued up to tenth position for this meet and that the Tazbar team championship will also be run at the end of the day if time allows.
The track is in good condition, and the weather forecast is good for the rest of the week
there are pictures of the track on the albums here if you want to look at the layout, its a naturally sweeping track with lots turns, and a whoops section at the end
hope to see you there this weekend

    PHOTO PROBLEMS

As the site is free it has a monthly photo upload limit, which due to there being so much good racing recently, has now been reached.
This means that half of the Long Lane photos are missing and all the Ollerton ones, as soon as the limit is reset for the month i will be putting them into the albums. I will probably be at the practice day, which we are holding at J4M54 on Wednesday, so those pictures will be posted at a later date too.
    very sorry

    Tunstall hall 18th/19th august 2007

Well, the track was perfect Saturday morning, everyone had worked really hard in the run up to the meeting, the racing began and the first block ran very smoothly, and then it RAINED!!! by the third block the going became quite difficult with parts of the track becoming a little technical due to muddy areas. No pictures sorry, as it was our home meeting i had marshalling duties to fullfill, however i did manage to take some of people recieving their trophies.
Unfortunately the rain continued overnight and for most of the day on Sunday, theres nothing worse than a club trying really hard, only to have something beyond their control ruin the day, and this is what the rain tried its best to do, however the club and riders carried on through the rain and managed to run two blocks of racing, although this was on a shortened track, the stewards agreed that the inter junior race for the second block should not go ahead, however the club decided to award trophies down to third place on the results from the first race.
Thankyou to all the riders who continued to race despite the horrible weather and a big thankyou to all the club members who battled on so that the racing could go ahead, you all know who you are and your hard work does not go unnoticed, especially those who worked extra jobs to ensure the racing could continue, working on the track/marshalling etc in the rain, is no joke, and lapscoring can be very difficult when numbers are covered in mud!!!!
Thanks to everyone for their efforts Saturday night, the hog roast and entertainment has had alot of positive feedback, it was enjoyed by all who attended, despite the sore heads that seemed to be around the paddock on Sunday morning, you know who you are......... Open-mouthed

there are many photos on the website as usual.. enjoy, and let us know if you spot yourself on there by adding a comment!

Work Party at Tunstall Hall Monday 13th august

thanks to all who attended the work party at the track tonight, the track is in excellent condition which should allow for good racing next Sat/Sun.
Photos are on the Tunstall Hall track photo album, i will be taking more on Friday once the rest of the track has been graded and the light is better.

    Ollerton Sunday 12th August

Off we all went to Ollerton near Market Drayton for this weekends race meeting, we were very lucky with the weather, only a couple of showers, the rest of the day was mixture of cloudy/sunny/hot/cold a proper English summer day!!
Unfortunately racing had be cut short due to the medical team arriving late after an ambulance breakdown and an injury to a young rider which stopped racing, causing a long delay.
Pictures are online as always, none of the new table top Im afraid, as spectators are not allowed near enough to get the right spot for good shots for safety reasons, some of the pictures are a little pale, i think this is due to the changing light and it being dusty at times.
This weekend is Northshropshire groups 2 day event at Tunstall Hall, there is lots of day time entertainment and a hog roast in the evening, details on this site or from the club.

    LONG LANE 29th JULY

An excellent meeting was put on by the Newport club at Long Lane this weekend, even the weather was kind, a great contrast to the rain recently!!!  Alot of hard work was put into the track to make it fit to race due to the bad weather recently, congratulations to the Newport club for managing to get the track into such good condition for race day.
Both Sam and Tom Smith managed first place trophies, well done to them both.

    CONDOVER Swimming championship

The championship racing at condover went ahead despite the awful weather, the support races only ran one block, being cancelled after track conditions deteriorated, Saturday night before the meeting the track was in excellent condition however the overnight rain, and rain during the day of the meeting turned it into a mudbath, a shame for Shrewsbury club who put alot of effort and time into preparing the track, which is usually brilliant and very popular!!!!!!  According to the AMCA website club members were on their hands and knees scraping mud from the start gate to ensure it dropped properly!!!!!
Water wings were the order of the day, as it continued to rain heavily during the meeting, thankgoodness for transponders!! race numbers were un-readable due to amount of mud both rider and bike became covered in as racing progressed. Most vehicles needed to be towed from the carpark by tractors, thanks to the boys for that!
Pictures are on the site as usual, however it is impossible to identify who is who!!!!!!
